14.9. Check of serviceability of functioning and replacement of switches of the dashboard

Considered in the present manual of the car are equipped with safety cushions (SRS). When performing any works near sensors of blows, a steering column or the dashboard disconnect SRS (see Safety cushions - the general information). You do not make check of the SRS models by means of any type of the diagnostic equipment. |
Switch of activation of a tempostat
Check
|
|
1. For check the switch needs to be removed from the car (see paragraph 1, Replacement).
2. With the help or the lamp sampler equipped with the individual power supply check existence of conductivity between switch plugs in both of its provisions (see the table below). In case of need replace the switch.

1. Hook the switch the small screw-driver and take it from the dashboard (see an accompanying illustration). Disunite the electric socket. |
2. Installation is made upside-down. |

Switch of activation of heating of back glass
Check
|
|
1. Remove the switch from the dashboard (see below paragraph 1, Replacement).
|
|
2. On the Civic models the chain of the switch switched on the timer that demands a special method of conducting check. In case of violation of serviceability of functioning of a heater include ignition (the engine do not start), then connect the positive probe of the voltmeter to the switch electrical wiring plait socket plug No. 1, connect the negative probe to the plug No. 4 (see an accompanying illustration). The device has to register battery tension, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring and a safety lock of a chain.

3. If tension of the battery takes place, establish a wire crossing point between plugs No. No. 1 and 4. If now the heater works, replace the switch, in opposite check a condition of the relay of a heater (see the Relay - the general information and check of serviceability of functioning) with the corresponding chain.

4. On the Integra models by means of an ohmmeter or the lamp sampler equipped with the individual power supply check existence of conductivity between switch plugs (see an accompanying illustration and the table below). At negative results of check replace the switch.

1. Having hooked the screw-driver, accurately take the switch from the car dashboard (see an accompanying illustration). Disunite the electric socket. |
2. Installation is made upside-down. |

Switch of illumination of the dashboard and running fires
Check
|
|
1. Remove the switch from the car dashboard (see below paragraph 1, Replacement).
2. The chain of the switch included a contour of management therefore check is made by a special method. During check each contour is tested in an individual order. If serviceability of functioning of system is broken, however malfunctions in contours it is not revealed, therefore, most likely the switch is damaged. check a condition of plugs of the switch. In case of need smooth out the oxidized plugs deformed straighten. In case of need replace the switch.

3. Connect an ohmmeter between the plug No. 2 of the socket of a plait of an electrical wiring of the switch and mass of the chassis (see an accompanying illustration). Conductivity has to take place, otherwise check a chain for break and reliability of fastening of terminal connections. |
4. At the included head headlights connect the voltmeter between the plug No. 1 and weight. If tension of the battery is absent, check a condition of components of a chain on the site to the assembly block located under the dashboard and to the combined switch.
5. At the included head headlights establish a wire crossing point between the plug No. 3 and mass of the chassis. Illumination of the dashboard has to join on the maximum brightness.
6. If a connecting electrical wiring as it should be, replace the switch.
