6.10. Removal, installation and adjustment of a cable of an accelerator

Replacement

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!


2. Weaken a lock-nut and release an accelerator cable from an arm (see an accompanying illustration).

3. Turn the cranked lever of a butterfly valve and take from the groove in the lever a cable tip (see an accompanying illustration).

4. Under the dashboard in a driver's foot well disconnect an accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal (see an accompanying illustration).

5. Release the rubber plug through passage from a partition of a motive compartment, then involve assembly of a cable in interior of the car.
6. Installation is made upside-down. Track that the sealing plug of a cable through passage correctly was put in a partition of a motive compartment. Choose a cable weak point, then you pass to its adjustment.

Adjustment

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature, then leave working at single turns.

2. Estimate the deflection size (a side side play) of a cable on the site between the cranked lever of a butterfly valve and an arm (see an accompanying illustration). The side play has to lie within the range of 9.5÷12.7 mm, otherwise weaken a lock-nut and make the corresponding adjustment. Again strongly tighten a lock-nut and kill the engine.

3. By means of the assistant make sure of completeness of opening and closing of a butterfly valve. Check freedom of the course of a cable.
4. On the models equipped with AT make adjustment of draft of management of a butterfly valve in the kick-down mode (TV cable) (see the Part 4-staged and stepless automatic transmissions (ат and cvt)).
