12:18. Removal and installation of the steering pump

1. Disconnect from the battery at first a negative wire, then positive.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action! |
2. Disconnect from the pump hydraulic lines (see illustrations above). Pay attention to distinction of a design of nipple knots of connection of pressure head and returnable lines: the returnable hose fastens on the union a collar whereas the pressure head line is connected by means of two bolts. Right after a detachment to a zakuporta the open ends of both hoses for the purpose of minimization of losses of hydraulic liquid and in order to avoid hit in system of dirt. Replace a sealing ring of nipple connection of the pressure head line.
3. Turn out an adjusting bolt of the steering pump.
4. Give fixing bolts and remove the pump from the engine.
5. Installation is made upside-down. Do not forget to remove at the end of the procedure air from steering system (see Removal of air from a hydraulic path of system of strengthening of a wheel) and to adjust effort of a tension of a driving belt (see the Head Routine maintenance).
