3.29. Replacement of brake fluid (each 48 000 km of a run or time in 24 months)

Remember that brake fluid is chemically aggressive substance and demands extra care in the address. Do not allow hit of brake fluid in eyes, on open sites of skin and the painted surfaces of the car. Besides toxicity brake fluid differs in also high hygroscopicity (i.e. ability to accumulate moisture from air). Excessive moisture content of brake fluid leads to dangerous decrease in efficiency of functioning of system. Use only fresh brake fluid, do not leave it for a long time in leaky closed container.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Replacement of brake fluid has to be made regularly and in strict accordance with the schedule of routine maintenance of the car (see the Schedule of routine maintenance). In advance prepare enough pure rags or paper towels for collecting the spilled liquid. For the purpose of protection of the painted body panels located in the neighbourhood impose with GTTs rags.
2. Prepare replaceable brake fluid of the required grade (see Specifications at the beginning of the Head).
3. Uncover the GTTs tank.
4. The manual pump, by means of the syringe or a rubber pear pump out the liquid which is present at the cylinder.
5. Fill in in the tank fresh brake fluid, having brought its level to the lower cut of a jellied mouth.
6. Watching liquid level in the tank, serially pump over all four brake mechanisms (see the Head the Brake system), trying to obtain the beginning of an exit from gates of their pumping of fresh liquid.
7. Double-check liquid level in the GTTs tank, in case of need make the corresponding adjustment. The brake pedal has to be squeezed out with a firm resistance – the feeling of softness of the course is inadmissible.

Do not start operation of the car at all being not absolutely sure of serviceability of functioning of brakes!
